The loss was a tough blow for a Firebirds squad that showcased impressive balance and efficiency throughout the night, placing six players in double figures and controlling large stretches of the game.
Javion Sims (Detroit) delivered a standout performance, pouring in 30 points to lead all Firebirds scorers. Dominique Ramsey (Detroit) added a gritty double-double, tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds while providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor. Despite their collective effort, the Firebirds couldn't withstand GRCC's late-game heroics, falling just short in a heart-pounding finish.
The Firebirds next game will be on Wednesday, December 3, against Community Christian (Mich.). For more information on Kirtland Firebird Athletics, please visit www.kirtlandfirebirds.com.
